The Foundry Splits into Restaurant and Craft Cocktail Bar

New, 1 comment

As promised, The Foundry on Melrose, which temporarily shuttered back in May, is getting a facelift. However, the longtime New American restaurant and bar, presided over by its boisterous and affable chef Eric Greenspan, is bringing on a new crew to help relaunch the venue on December 5 as two separate spaces. A to-be-named restaurant, still operated by The Foundry team (Greenspan plus Jay Perrin and Jim Hustead), will claim The Foundry's back area, designed by Demetra Verrios. Overall, expect a more refined and intimate dining experience.

Meanwhile, Ian Shepp (Key Club), Austin Melrose (Medusa Lounge, Bagatelle) and Zach Patterson (Bagatelle) will retool the front area into a craft cocktail bar, possibly named Brass Lady, designed by Matt Winter of M. Winter Design (41 Ocean, Oldfield's). Alongside booze, they'll serve Greenspan's grilled cheese sandwiches, the restaurant of which is still under construction next door.
