When Umami Burger opens its newest Arts District hamburger shop on September 23 at 11 a.m., this eatery will mark the modern burger chain's 20th location. Hard to believe the whole Umami concept was born fewer than five years ago.
And as more and more operators flock to the Arts District, it's no surprise to see Umami in that group. Much like its other burger shops, the aesthetic at Umami Arts is inspired by its environs, with custom furniture and "creative elements" designed by local innovators at Westin Mitchell. Think indoor and rear patio seating for 60, and Umami's core burger menu with some TBA exclusives. Here one will find a longer list of SoCal beer, eight on draft and 22 by bottle. Pending finishing touches, there's a chance Umami might soft open before Monday with limited hours.
