George Abou-Daoud knows a thing or two about burgers. So it's no surprise to see he opened Twins Sliders on September 19, a new to-go window squished between Delancey and Mission Cantina in Hollywood, fixed on sliders, fries, "soda pop," and milkshakes, The Big One of which comes loaded with everything but the kitchen sink, even a whole Twinkie on top. The old school throwback model of simple fast food executed with high quality ingredients is having a comeback, of sorts. Of course there's Shake Shack which is expanding around the country, plus LA's own Top Round. And The Oinkster, too.
Twins Sliders' twin slider options fall to a cheeseburger with Thousand Island dressing or spicy fried chicken with Cajun dressing, plus shoestring fries dirty, clean, or with cheese. If the date milkshake is anything like the one served at Shields Date Farm in Palm Springs then Angelenos are in for a treat, plus one will find more conventional flavors of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry.
Per its website, more locations (Fairfax) to come. [EaterWire]
