Conceptually, Sirena seemed like a fitting Los Angeles eatery. A beautifully-designed restaurant in a once iconic space, an organic olive oil-focused Italian seafood menu, a wood-fired oven baking house-made breads, pizza, and other rustic plates. But following a splashy launch, opening chefs Jeremy Strubel and Kenneth Curran quickly dropped off, leaving partners Michael Sutton (Guys & Dolls), Peter Garland (Porta Via ), chef Sandy Gendel (Pace) to steer the ship. Sutton decamped next, and here now several months later and Sirena is done. The restaurant's Facebook page no longer exists and its website directs to a "Closed Thank You For Your Patronage" note. Hopefully whoever moves in next will revive Pane e Vino's beloved outdoor patio.
