It's September which means that Coachella is still more than half a year away. But the good news is that next month, October 26-27, the first Life Is Beautiful food and music mashup festival will transpire on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. It's sort of like New York's Great GoogaMooga fest with bigger bands, a bunch of which have played Coachella in years past. The Killers, Beck and Kings of Leon are headlining, with performances by Vampire Weekend, Imagine Dragons, Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit, Capital Cities, Robert Delong, Cayucas, and a ton more. The chef lineup is coming together, with many LA chefs, including Nancy Silverton (Mozza), participating. Jet Tila (The Charleston), David Myers (Comme Ca), Marcel Vigneron, Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken (Border Grill) will cook as well, among others. Obviously, by way of location, a plethora of Vegas chefs are onboard, such as Michael Mina, Hubert Keller, Francois Payard and Rick Moonen.

Compared to Coachella prices, tix for Life is Beautiful are really reasonable, GA for both days runs $159.50 and VIP (which comes with a lounge, additional food, bathrooms, and a main stage viewing area) is $349.50. Or, if you just want to swing by for one day, today single day tickets went on sale here, $95 for GA and $209.50 VIP. But note, festival tickets do not include free food. Chefs will be serving their dishes at $10 and under.
