DOWNTOWN— Grand Central Market, the slowly reforming food emporium, is now open starting at 8 a.m., anticipating the debut of Egg Slut in about a month's time. At the moment, Valerie Confections opens at 8 a.m., and G&B Coffee at 7 a.m.
LONG BEACH— Beachwood BBQ both here and at the original Seal Beach locations start their annual Sour Beer Best today, running until Sunday. There's even a shuttle that goes between the two bars. [DD]
