Trader Joe's in West Hollywood's Movietown Plaza closed on Saturday after 28 years of operation. The third branch of the popular grocery store, and the first one outside of Pasadena, it served a cookout of hot dogs and vegan burgers to almost a thousand customers. The entire retail strip is getting converted into a 371 unit apartment development with over 30,000 square feet of retail space. The developer is hoping that Trader Joe's is one of those tenants but no deal is completed at the moment. [WeHoville]
