Chez Antoine, the rather charming new creperie and bistro in Highland Park, soft opened over the weekend and plans to officially serve tonight starting at 4 p.m. In addition to both savory and dessert crepes featuring the likes of ham & cheese, strawberry, and nutella, there are casual French bistro dishes like beef bourguignon, onion soup, salmon with bearnaise, and croquette monsieur.

The neighborhood restaurant is opening just across the street from The Greyhound, which is in the thick of construction. The two establishments should spruce up this stretch of Figueroa, which hasn't had too much in the way of compelling of food concepts for a while. It's all a part of Highland Park's Brooklyn-like gentrification, which has been met with some resistance, but overall seems to be an improvement for local denizens looking for quality. At the moment, Chez Antoine is open daily from 4-10 p.m.
