Gravlax, the Scandinavian and Turkish mashup from Arda Koca and Lars Magnus Stefansson, has been delayed about three months. But, with rough inspections passed and a beer/wine license en route, the "cozy wine & coffee bar" is moving forward, to serve lunch, dinner, happy hour and snacks at the end of October.
But, Garvlax needs a bit of help. Only 11 days are left in a Kickstarter campaign asking for $35k in donations to acquire a "Dream Espresso Machine" and "Dream Meat Slicer." A bunch of forthcoming dishes are pictured too, like Turkish steak tartare, English muffins and mustard herring.
So far Gravlax is more than halfway complete, with furniture and fixtures secured. Local carpenter Doug Barry is responsible for the above pictured wood installation, meanwhile artist Lindsay Carron is designing a floor mural which will also bedeck an adjacent wall.
