Slater's 50/50's Kangaroo Burger; Groundwork Delays

AROUND TOWN— Care to try some 'roo? For the rest of this month, SoCal-based burger chainlet Slater's 50/50 has a kangaroo burger on the menu. The patty is made from half ground bacon and half kangaroo, topped with huckleberry ketchup and crushed macadamia ricotta. Depending on the size of patty ordered, the burger runs from $14.95 to $19.95. [EaterWire]

SANTA MONICA— The new Groundwork coffeehouse on Montana has been delayed from its late August launch to October 1. Construction holdups are to blame. [EaterWire]
