643 North is Ready For Action in Chinatown, Now Open

The clean and contemporary 643 North is a prime example of the new Chinatown, which includes a slowly emerging set of hip restaurants that are attracting a younger generation of eaters and drinkers. Also in this mix are recent additions Starry Kitchen and Chego!, and now 643 North adds an Italian component to the Asian 'hood. Although the small restaurant and bar debuted this past Saturday, full hours of operation begin today, with weekend brunch launching on Saturday at 9 a.m.

Longtime caterer Michael Ourieff is behind operations, although in the kitchen daily one will find chef Oz Ramuco previously of Faux Pas and J Lounge. For the most part, you're coming here for Raveled Studio's cool casual vibe and Ramuco's familiar Italian plates like Caprese salad and penne alla vodka.

The varied drink program was orchestrated by Far Bar's Adam Acuff and ranges from 12 beers on tap to a custom martini program to speciality cocktails, wine, and alcoholic coffee drinks made with nearby Demitasse beans. Hours of operation run Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight, and Friday/Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Brunch takes place Saturday and Sunday.
