Christmas lights, wood chips, and red/white checkered tablecloths are just a few of the distinguishing embellishments that flavor iconic Santa Monica watering hole and surf/turf joint, Chez Jay. Withstanding over a half century on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica, Chez Jay is presently on the endangered species list. But, before any changes are made to the stalwart locals hub, Eater photographer Elizabeth Daniels stopped by last week to capture the scene at 9:15 p.m. on a Friday night.
