Hakkasan Ltd. Takes Controlling Stake in EHGRP

Confirmed this morning. Global restaurant and nightlife group Hakkasan Ltd. has taken majority ownership of James Brennan's Enlightened Hospitality Group (EHGRP), the parent company that operates San Diego chef Brian Malarkey's set of restaurants, in addition to Stingaree nightclub, also in San Diego. The deal makes Hakkasan Ltd. "the majority stakeholder for all EHGRP entities," says a release, and includes Malarkey's imminent Herringbone at the Mondrian. In fact, Herringbone West Hollywood will be the first joint endeavor between Hakkasan Ltd. and EHGRP.

Further, "The acquisitions reflect Hakkasan Ltd.'s commitment to further expand into U.S. markets and its ongoing development into a multifaceted global lifestyle brand."
