Italiano's Pizzeria on York Blvd. in Highland Park has shuttered, leaving only its Figueroa location just a few miles away to represent the tepid Eastside pizza and pasta shop. Word on the street is that a trio of restaurateurs have taken over the spot after Jason Bernstein and James Starr of The Golden State and Bludso's Bar & Que passed on the space due to its lack of a current beer and wine license. At the moment, the space is being gutted. More to come. [Yelp]
