More details surface on Brooke Williamson and Nick Roberts' (The Tripel, Hudson House) beachside giant, Playa Provisions, which should debut in February with a four-in-one concept setup reminiscent of a town country mart. First, a more casual breakfast-through-dinner counter called King Beach, an ice cream shop named Small Batch, a back room whiskey bar operating as Grain, and a more high end, sit-down dining space, Dockside, which will boast top-notch seafood and more.
The Top Chef contestant and host of the upcoming MTV's House of Food (which premieres March 31) has been busy preparing this expansive food emporium for over the past six months, which isn't too bad of a turnaround considering the number of eating/drinking places it will hold. Hopefully the details will hold together a little better than the failed Umamicatessen in Downtown, though the location of Playa Provisions in the vastly underserved Playa Del Rey should help its long term success.
