Eight-month-old Beverly Hills lounge-restaurant Carson House is changing its tune. Kevin O'Connell of Sunset Boulevard's shuttered 9 Olives at Chaplin House has joined original partner Scott Paletz to revamp the relatively new eatery. The Carson House name will remain, although the venue is now operating as Carson House: An American Bistro. As if the pizza, cheesesteak, po' boy slider menu didn't make that abundantly clear. This week the team has added a raw bar to the pre-existing American bill of fare and made aesthetic adjustments, too. Dining room tables are now dressed in black linen and a new ceiling treatment is in place.
But more changes are afoot. Beginning February 3, Carson House will add a restaurant in a restaurant. Meaning, the long room on the East side of the building will become a lunch deli and retail shop selling house dry aged steaks and other specialty foods. The lunch menu here will consist of sandwiches, salads, and sides. Hours will run Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
