Pudding Truck Rolls Jan 31; Son of a Gun's Guest Chef

MEALS ON WHEELS— Carrie Cohen is launching her small batch Pudding Truck on January 31 at Golden Road Brewing from 7-10 p.m. with free samples for anyone who stops by. While flavors and toppings will change seasonally, she's starting out with chocolate, butterscotch, vanilla bean, lemon, espresso, and (vegan) chocolate hazelnut, which can come decorated with a myriad of extras from sea salt to fresh clementine curd. MID-CITY— Chef Norman Van Aken (Chef/Director of Restaurants at The Miami Culinary Institute) will prepare a three course lunch at Son of a Gun on January 28 using recipes from his new book, No Experience Necessary: The Culinary Odyssey of Chef Norman Van Aken. The meal, collectively cooked by Van Aken and SOAG owners/chef Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, begins at noon and costs $40 per person. [EaterWire]
