They're finally here! Big Gay Ice Cream has finally planted a foot on the corner of 9th and Broadway, soon to become the hottest block in Downtown, what with Alma and The Ace Hotel around the corner. That means fans of the Salty Pimp and Bea Arthur will be able to get their fix some time later this year. The 1,500 square foot space, which takes over a sandwich shop, will feature plenty of unicorns in the design. Founded by Doug Quint and Bryan Petroff, the duo has long intended open an outlet in L.A., citing the great weather and a "weirdness - like the weirdness in New York," according to the LA Times. They eventually plan to have several shops and a year-round truck operation. In the past, the truck had made various pop-up stops around the city to long lines and rabid crowds. At the moment, there's no exact timeline of the opening at this new brick & mortar.
