A sad day for office workers and denizens in Mid-City. The Chicken Lady Cafe, a catering force and chicken finger specialist, is shuttering after 20 years of operation. A simple email sent out to customers declared that "for personal reasons, The Chicken Lady will be closed permanently starting Thursday January 22 [sic]." The popular Southern-style cafe had strong reviews and a steady following, but perhaps the leasehold on the space was coming to an end, or the increasing number of eateries on West Third was hurting business. It's hard to say, but the two decade run was certainly one to be remembered. [EaterWire]
