After five years, Casa Escobar has returned to Malibu. This time owner Kathy Escobar has planted the local Mexican chainlet within the iconic Malibu Inn, which was up for sale after a spoiled attempt at reinventing itself in vintage glory.
For those familiar with Casa Escobar in Westlake and Santa Monica, expect a similar taco, enchilada, tamale, burrito menu with extra emphasis on organic ingredients and healthier options. The full bar offers a plethora of specialty margaritas, which can be enjoyed on the patio or inside the redesigned, Mexicanized space. Happy hour is still to come, in addition to live music, salsa night and more. Hours of operation run Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday/Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
