Patric Kuh at LAmag files the first formal review on Walter Manzke's white hot Republique, dropping three out of fours stars. Though he catches a couple missteps, he's mostly fond of the French-rooted menu and is especially keen on Margarita Manzke's excellent rustic desserts: "No flash, all quality, intelligent inventiveness, drop-dead technique: That's the best of modern dining for me, and those smarts shine in Margarita's desserts."
