Gracias Madre is pretty much Cafe Gratitude gone Mexican minus the raw foods, another organic and sustainable vegan endeavor by Cafe Gratitude founders Matthew and Terces Engelhart. The restaurant has already proven popular in San Francisco, and based on the success of Cafe Gratitude here in Los Angeles, it was only fitting that Lisa Bonbright, CEO of the LA restaurants, along with Matthew and Terces' sons Cary Mosier and Ryland Engelhart, brought the Latin love down south. Executive chef Chandra Gilbert will plate up a seasonal menu similar to this, with antojitos and larger plates like tamales, enchiladas and tacos made with hand-made corn tortillas. Gracias Madre is nearly complete as pictured above and is on schedule to open this month.
