As of Monday, the keys to Luigi on West Third Street have turned over to Jen Morton of Blue Plate Restaurant Group. In the coming months she'll reformat Italian into seafood and reopen as a second branch of her beachy-themed Blue Plate Oysterette, providing a little bit of competition for nearby Son of a Gun and the not-too-distant Connie & Ted's. Right now Morton plans to debut around March/April. In other news, Luigi proprietor Tony Riviera has "several new projects coming." Stay tuned. [EaterWire]
