Larchmont's Girasole Getting Reworked Into Vernetti in January

Sometimes it's necessary to get a hefty update, and with Larchmont's Girasole, it's a welcome sign that things are back up the uptick in the neighborhood. With perpetual lines at Salt & Straw and newer concepts such as Burger Lounge and Go Get Em Tigerhitting the boulevard, it was time for two-decade Italian American restaurant to hit the reset button (plus, a more PR-fueled spot in the Valley helmed by a Top Cheftestant wasn't likely helping their SEO).

In comes Vernetti, which will focus on the same favorites like linguine vongole, whole roasted branzino, grilled veal chop, and more, but with fresher, local ingredients and quality purveyors such as Bread Lounge and Marconda's Meats. The restaurant itself has closed as of September 28 and plans to re-open by January 2015.
