WEST HOLLYWOOD — A trio of great chefs is coming into town to promote their new cookbooks: Jean-Pierre Mouillé (French Roots), Gabrielle Hamilton of NYC's Prune, and Charles Phan of SF's The Slanted Door. Lucques chef Suzanne Goin and chef de cuisine Javier Espinoza will be preparing recipes from each of the books for $55 per person while guests chefs roam the restaurant and sign books. The price for the prix fixe dinners don't include copies of books. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN — Clark Street Bread, the highly regarded home-based baker who supplies restaurants around town, is doing a pop-up event at Downtown's Grand Central Market every Saturday during the fall starting October 4 with a variety of fresh baked goods for sale. PACIFIC PALISADES — Maison Giraud is having oyster man Christophe Happillon on October 2, and continuing with every first Thursday of the month. Freshly shucked oysters alongside chef Alain Giraud's classic French fare. It's not a bad combo. [EaterWire]
