Pete's, Josef Centeno's Gorgeous Ode to American Cooking, Now Open in Downtown's Historic Core

New, 2 comments

Pete's joins the ranks of the the Centeno sovereignty on 4th and Main in downtown's Old Bank District,

There's been much ado about Pete's Los Angeles, the revamped and re-concepted lunchtime hotspot by Josef Centeno of Baco Mercat, Orsa & Winston, and Bar Ama. The 12-year lunchtime intuition on 4th and Main has a sleek new interior and offers eats inspired by the James Beard canon like Waldorf salad, roast beef, and club sandwich with a roulade of chicken thigh, Benton ham, guanciale, and chicken cracklings.

The bright, airy design stands in stark contrast to the brown-wood that pervaded the Pete's that once was. Black and brass trim, globe pendant lights, and a grey Caesarstone cocktail bar create a polished American bistro feel. Also on offer is a white-tiled Stumptown coffee and pastry bar for those on the go. With options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with wrap-around windows ideal for people watching, you may never have to leave.
