Remember when La Botte in Santa Monica closed down earlier this year and Andrew Kirschner, the owner of Tar & Roses planned to open a new restaurant? The space will be revamped as Santa Monica Yacht Club and is already undergoing renovations. No word on the type of cuisine or concept Kirschner has planned, but they are hopeful Santa Monica Yacht Club will open by the end of this year.
According to the Santa Monica Planning Commission proposal, Santa Monica Yacht Club acquired a full liquor license to sell distilled spirits as well as beer and wine. Additionally, the restaurant plans to stay open later than La Botte. The expected hours are Monday to Friday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Also, Santa Monica Yacht Club will serve brunch on the weekends and holidays, starting at 9 a.m. In addition, a new floor plan has been created to accommodate more parties on the patio.
