Larry Nicola founded Nic's Beverly Hills back in 1997 after nearly two decades of success as a fine dining restaurateur in Silver Lake and Downtown. About nine years later, he upped the ante with the VODBOX, an ice cold walk-in freezer with 30 shelves of vodkas from around the world. Patrons grab huge fur coats and hats, sipping a mid-meal shot of vodka at the ideal temperature.
Back in the dining room, Nicola presents a familiar menu of everything from grilled shrimp cocktail and steak tartare to more luxurious bites like osetra caviar. In a part of town where glamour is pervasive, Nic's is a true neighborhood spot where regulars can slide into a banquette, sip some martinis prepared tableside, and relax in the mid-century mod environs.
