A few weeks ago, Eater uncovered the news that Circa had been sold to the Simms Brothers, who own a slew of South Bay restaurants, including Fishing with Dynamite and M.B. Post. Now the LA Times reports that they'll be partnering again with chef David LeFevre for a concept called Arthur J., named after their grandfather and focused on steaks as a main attraction.
Opening some time in the middle of 2015, the trio will gut out Circa and turn it into the next great food attraction in the South Bay, though LeFevre seems to insist that it won't be a traditional steakhouse. What will this mean for the man who made his career on selling prime quality seafood? Well, it'll likely have the rabid dining crowd watering at the mouth for anything he throws at them. And steaks seem to be a pretty solid offering.
