No Crustacean Here: Hannah An Possibly Striking Out on Her Own at Duplex

The House of An will not be involved with this solo venture by Helene An's daughter, Hannah.

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

Yesterday Eater reported that Crustacean would be taking over the former Duplex spaceon West Third. Today comes an update that it won't be Crustacean or the overarching restaurant group, House of An, but rather Hannah An, who will be leading this venture who is "considering" this for her first solo project.

So for people wanting more Crustacean action, that probably won't happen here, though the flagshiop restaurant won't be moving anytime soon from its nook in Beverly Hills. In the meantime, there's no further update on what's going into Duplex.

As a side note, Crustacean founder Helene An has gone on to co-found a number of restaurants with her daughters, including Tiato, Thanh Long, Anqi, and another Crustacean outlet in San Francisco.
