The area between the 10 Freeway and Beverly Hills is a pretty great neighborhood, except for the fact that there's always demand for more interesting food options. In steps Undergrind, a clean, comfy coffee bar along South Robertson that finally opened October 25 after a lengthy build out. With a long thank you list of supporters on the wall, the early reception has been very warm, with eager customers lining up for their first cup of local joe.

Along with a classic list of espresso drinks, proprietor Rachel Sazon has compiled a list of creative latte drinks like salted caramel, vanilla bean, peanut butter cup, and the "tiger island," made with chocolate, coconut, chai, and espresso. Finally, there's a daily sandwich special, which in past days was a homestyle pot-roast sandwich for anyone wanting a simple lunch in the area.
