Trattoria Neapolis, which has been serving South Lake Avenue in Pasadena since 2012, now has chef Clinton McCann helming the stoves. Instead of the pasta-centric menu that debuted with Bryant Wigger, McCann and ownership is steering the concept toward "Italian Steakhouse." It's an easy way to pick up a whole new set of customers in an area that's just starving for some good concepts. And Italian steakhouse (what with the likes of Pistola opening this year) is an easy thing to bank on.
Consider prime steaks, pork chops, chicken, and fish all made in a wood-burning oven, or apps like blue crab arancini and meatballs. So instead of the grand focus with house-made charcuterie, it's a little more on the Italian-American side of things.
