It looks like Dinette is officially here. After some recent speculation that Gareth Kantner's long-held Echo Park spot was finally nearing its debut, it looks like the eatery has officially soft opened as of this week.
Don't expect much space to speak of, with small metal tables and chairs scattered near the order window and to the left, under the awning. Still, Dinette makes for beautiful little walkup window, complete with marble tiles and trays full of pastries, with everything from strawberry rhubarb pie slices to savory egg custards and French-inflected classics like meringues.
For now, the only heartier options to speak of come by way of a handwritten menu that includes waffles, egg scrambles and avocado toast (naturally).

Espresso drinks are in full effect, however, adding to the growing third-wave coffee culture explosion that's been happening in Echo Park. Hours are still loose as the team continues to gear up, but for expect to be able to grab coffee and a pastry starting at 8 a.m.
