Santa Monica's CiBOTECA Closed Until Further Notice

The restaurants on the corner of Broadway and 6th in Santa Monica have encountered some bad luck recently. Simply Raw remains temporarily shuttered and now neighboring restaurant CiBOTECA, the upscale Italian deli and café from the team behind Hostaria del Piccolo has a sign on their door that reads, "Thank you all for your patronage; due to the delay of our beer and wine license, CiBOTECA will be temporarily closed, until further notice. We appreciate your support."

The announcement on their website feels a bit more finalized stating, "As of Saturday, November 8th, CiBOTECA will be closed." No word from Hostaria employees but perhaps rent was too high and they anticipated on beer and wine sales to help? As of now, neither restaurant have made it to the one-year mark, however; Hostaria Del Piccolo still appears to be doing well on that block.
