The Eastside has always been a prime place to slide into a quiet cocktail lounge, at a place like Big Bar, 4100, or The Dresden. Here's another place to file into nice drinking spots in Los Feliz and adjacent neighborhoods: The Study. Occupying the former Agave on Vermont just north of Hollywood Blvd, The Study offers a solid menu of classic cocktails and a few other creative infusions.

Think Moscow Mules, Sazeracs, Rye Negronis, and Sidecars. There's also a simple menu of plates like a grilled steak sandwich, shepherd's pie, garlic fries, and angus burger, if you're in want of some bar bites. In all, not quite the kind of place that's going to shout out at you, but also a welcome neighborhood addition that won't break the bank.

Open daily from 3 p.m. (happy hour to 7 p.m.) until 2 a.m.
