Higher Rent is Pushing Out Culver City's Beloved Zam Zam Market

The enigmatic Pakistani eatery's last day is on Sunday.

Zam Zam Market might have had the oddest hours and a popular following from nearby mosque-goers, but the charming Pakistani eatery's last day is on Sunday, reports Midtown Lunch, who found the tip on Chowhound. Known for its excellent biryani, tandoori, and other South Asian favorites, the inexpensive restaurant is getting pushed out because of higher rents.

Midtown Lunch's Zach Brooks has heard from those working behind the counter that there's a possible Hawthorne location in the works, though their preference is to stay local in the neighborhood. There's just over two more days to experience some of the best curries, fresh naan, tandoori and kebabs in LA before Zam Zam takes a long (and possibly eternal) hiatus. A sad day indeed.
