WEST THIRD— Large Marge, a pop-up that takes place at Son of a Gun on Sundays, commenced this past weekend with Courtney McBroom and Leslie Behrens, both of whom hail from NYC's Momofuku Milk Bar. With six courses and a slew of cocktails, the duo is hoping to turn the pop-up concept into a brick and mortar some time in 2015. In the meantime, Large Marge returns to Son of a Gun this coming Sunday, November 23, with a $45, 4-course prix fixe available at lunch. Check out the food and menus below, and see the Tumblr for updated information.
SANTA MONICA— Owners at The Hump, the scandal-riddled sushi restaurant at the Santa Monica Airport, have finally pleaded guilty to knowingly allowing the service of whale meat at their place. They will pay a $27,000 fine and receive a 12 month probation if the court approves the deal. In the meantime, the two chefs who pleaded guilty to serving the whale meat have not been sentenced.
VENICE— Zenbunni, the biodynamic chocolate company, is celebrating its one year anniversary at Le Marche Vintage on Abbot Kinney on November 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a "grand" opening, one year after opening.
