Secretly one of the most beloved restaurants in Culver City/Palms, Tara's Himalayan Cuisine has had a solid existence along Venice Blvd since 2007 serving specialties like yak, momo dumplings, and lamb simmered in coconut sauce. Now a second location is open on the corner of Jefferson and Catalina, a few blocks west of Vermont and within a stone's throw of USC's campus.

The affordable ethnic bites should be a boon for West Adams locals and nearby students looking for a cheap (and spicy) date place. Founded by Tara Gurung Black, who was born in a tiny Nepal village, ten percent of profits from the business go back to rebuilding the school at her hometown. Using locally grown vegetables, Colorado-grown yak, and authentic spices, the legend of Tara's won't stay hidden for long.
