The Valley just keeps improving in major strides. Tasting menu restaurnants, seafood shacks, hip burger spots, sushi galore, and even a top-notch barbecue gem. But here's something that's quite necessary: a grown up wine bar from folks who know how to properly open a bottle.

Get ready for Augustine, hitting Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks at the former Brats Brothers shop. It's being put together by the Bar Covell team of Dustin Lancaster, Matthew Kaner, and new partner Dave Gibbs. The concept is similar to the Los Feliz sister, with everything from dependable to boutique wines poured by the glass, beer on draft, and small bites. Opening is slated for January, which means a pretty quick turnaround for this team.
