Toca Madera will be a traditional Mexican concept emphasizing a variety of small plates and food options served a la carte. Owned by EDL Management Group and entrepreneur Tosh Berman (AV Nightclub), the eatery is set to open sometime in January.
Located in the heart of 3rd Street, the 120-seat eatery will include a full bar with a complete tequila program. Menu items will consist of tacos, ceviche, skirt steak and shrimp dishes among other options prepared with the freshest local ingredients. Additionally, the 4,500 square foot restaurant includes an upstairs that seats 40 and could potentially be a speakeasy-type space for private parties and VIPs.
Toca Madera will be open for dinner seven days a week to start. A location in San Diego is also slated to debut next year. Watch out Mercado, looks like there's competition on the horizon.
