Mark Verge, who's also opening an eatery on Main Street SaMo, is behind this new project on Montana Avenue

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

Mark Verge, who founded Westside Rentals and has partnered up with 213 Nightlife and Cedd Moses in the past, is trying to break into the restaurant game in Santa Monica. First Verge changed up Babalu into Art's Table. Then came news that Verge was behind the former Wildflour Pizza space (which is turning into a beer garden of sorts).

Now Toddrickallen reports that Cafe Montana is turning into a place called Ox & Son, with the high-end project slated to open some time next year. Apparently former Inn of the Seventh Ray chef Bradley Miller is helming the operation. Cafe Montana had occupied this spot for nearly 20 years, only to fold recently.
