Lemonade Will Soon Occupy Clusi Batusi's Old Slot on Sawtelle

The casual Italian restaurant is becoming a Swiss army knife eatery in the busy dining district.

Sawtelle had a banner year in 2013, and another strong follow up in 2014, with multiple restaurant and casual eatery openings. One loss was Clusi Batusi, a solid but otherwise straightforward place to get a pizza and salad on a block chock full of compelling places to have a meal. And now the boulevard is getting something even more versatile: Lemonade. The popular buffet-cum-cafe that tends to arrive near offices will soon occupy the smallish spot that was once Clusi Batusi.

Interestingly enough, this new location is supposed to get a beer & wine license, which might help this Lemonade grow up a bit compared to its other siblings. Lemonade offers a variety of ready-to-eat fare, plus baked goods and other for-order items (see the Venice menu here as an example). Most people end up just grabbing a platter and loading up a few items to sample through lunch or dinner. No word on the opening date, but the turnaround should be quick.
