Just like Chipotle, but with PB & J.

Just when you thought the whole grilled cheese sandwich trend was starting to cool off, here's a crazy concept hitting LA for the first time: a build-your-own peanut butter sandwich bar opening December in Studio City called Spread PB.

Walk in, pick a base bread like bagel, tortilla, apples, bananas, or pretzels, pick from a slew of various peanut butter flavors (ranging from coconut to green curry), and stack on some toppings.

It's probably made for more as an afternoon snack or perhaps even a dessert, but with things like chocolate chips, Nutella, marshmallows, and bacon, it could be more of a stoner's paradise. Either way, this seems to be another way to reach into the collective memory of childhood foods, from cereal bars to grilled cheese sandwiches. What's next, build-your-own bologna sandwich bars?
