Studio City doesn't know quite what it's in for tomorrow when Barrel & Ashes opens in the former Spark Woodfire Grill space on Ventura Blvd. Touting barbecue from Rory Hermann (former chef at Bouchon) and Timothy Hollingsworth (former chef de cuisine at The French Laundry), the duo of fine dining chefs is taking a time-honored genre that just might change the smoked meat game forever in LA.
With Bill Chait as the main restaurateur, the place had been doing preview dinners this whole week, with nary a peep on social media thanks to a strict no-camera/cellphone policy. However, Open Table is officially taking reservations for dinner tomorrow night, with tables currently available (as of 4:30 p.m. today) at 5:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. If you want an early taste of the Valley's newest dining destination, act quickly.
