Inside the Minimalist Status Kuo, A Fancy Neighborhood Rotisserie in Mar Vista

New, 3 comments

David Kuo brings a slew of roasted meats and veggies to Mar Vista

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

David Kuo knew that Mar Vista was in dire need of a friendly neighborhood eatery that provided both quality, convenience, and affordability. Enter Status Kuo, which (ironically) hopes to change the game in a part of town that's sure to embrace this casual concept.

Taking a page from the uber-popular California Chicken Cafe, Status Kuo will offer everything from rotisserie chicken, lamb, suckling pig, porchetta, and prime rib, as well as some veggie options for non-meat eaters. Said meats come via flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, and more, plus soups, pastas, and breads.

Take a look around the slick Design, Bitches space, and get ready to baste in Status Kuo. When it opens on December 5, Status Kuo will serve from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
