SILVER LAKE— Despite some decent media attention when it opened, the high-priced Lucky Duck on Hyperion is now closed, reports Eating LA. In its stead comes a new ramen joint (which makes considering the insane popularity of Silver Lake Ramen nearby), though Eating LA does say that the new operators are first time restaurateurs. Lucky Duck's outpost next to Echo Park Lake was still open as of last week, with plenty of business there.

BRENTWOOD— Acai Nation has opened their second store in Brentwood, offering acai bowls, smoothies, and other healthy snacks. Since it's soft opening, they're also offering 25% for the time being, though no word on when the promotion will end.

DOWNTOWN— Toranoko has been down for the count for a few weeks now, but management assures Eater that it will return after a few months of renovation. Will it just turn into another Akatora? Time will tell but the Cardenas empire seems to be more occupied with Alhambra's Akatora location, which will be opening this coming Saturday, December 13.
