Last night seemed like a fairly typical evening at Butchers & Barbers, except for the fact that staff and executive chef Luke Reyes were on high alert because James Beard award-winning critic Patric Kuh of Los Angeles Magazine was in the house sitting at a corner table. Though one cannot see from the photo above, the stealthy critic, whose face is still unknown to many industry insiders, is sitting at the table facing the wall and his dining companion.
According to staff, it had been the critic's fourth time in the seven week-old restaurant, which seems to imply that a review must be in the works. When Eater asked if the LA Times' Jonathan Gold had been by, Reyes replied that the Pulitzer-prize winning critic had not been spotted yet in the Hollywood eatery.
Kuh dined at the corner for more than three hours, going through Reyes' New American menu. How many stars will Kuh award to Butchers & Bars (out of five)? Hit the comments were any guesses.
