Ever since it opened three years ago, Daniel Mattern and Roxana Jullapat of Cook's County have been reliably serving some of the best farmers market-driven cuisine in Los Angeles. S. Irene Virbila of the L.A. Times reports that the dynamic husband and wife duo is leaving Claudio Blotta's Beverly Blvd restaurant by the end of the year. According to the Times, the chefs are leaving for a yet-to-be announced project.
The heavy Instagrammers were Santa Monica Farmer's Market regulars, serving refined California fare with top notch ingredients. Jullapat's desserts in particular stood out among the crowded Mid-City scene.
In their stead, Trevor Rocco steps into the kitchen after founding Grindhouse and running the kitchen at Red Hill in Echo Park. Hopefully this means the quality stays at the high level at Cook's County.
