2KG, A Wild Street Food Experience Coming To West Hollywood From Chris Oh and Brian Huskey

Located atop Formosa Cafe, this completely new eatery will bring the streets of Asia to WeHo

Get ready West Hollywood. Chris Oh Seoul Sausage, Escala) and Brian Huskey (Picca, Top Chef) are bringing the streets of Asia (mostly Korea) right to your doorstep. Taking over the rooftop of the historic Formosa Cafe some time in January 2015, the duo is bringing 2KG, short for Two Korean Guys, as a wild outdoor street food restaurant decked out with changing anime-inspired street art, flaming hibachi grills, and tableside stews.

The layout will very much resemble the po-jang machas of Korea, basically public outdoor drinking stalls where patrons sip on cold Asian lager and "mind-erasing" soju any time of day or night.

The chefs plan to elevate the kind of cooking one will find on the streets, not re-invent what already works. Close your eyes, and you might as well be right on a forlorn block of Seoul, not in the middle of West Hollywood. Sadly, you can't nap on the subway ride home, but that's what Uber is for, right? Or hop over to another Korean-inspired drinkingspot that recently opened in WeHo.

Those with any concerns about Formosa should not fear - the legendary Hollywood haunt is sticking around and maintaining its character. There just might be some Psy-style dancing happening upstairs, that's all.
