Along Broadway between 6th and 7th Street in Santa Monica, two neighboring restaurants, CiBOTECA and Simply Raw, are set to open in the coming weeks. CiBOTECA is the upscale Italian deli and cafe from the Hostaria del Piccolo crew, and management has posted menus to the restaurant's website. Expect a long list of panini from $7 to $10 stuffed with Italian ingredients like mortadella, pistachio pesto, kale, and Saba; and speck with porcini-truffle cream and Fontina. One will also find salads, crostini, plus a bevy of baked goods and desserts available for dine-in to go by Piccolo pastry chef Yukari Kamiya. Local roaster Caffe Luxxe will supply beans for coffee drinks, offered in addition to mostly Italian beers and wine. Hours of operation to run daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Meanwhile, next-door Simply Raw has delayed its debut from February 15 to a TBA date.
